Betsey B. Winslow Elementary School

A big warm welcome to all of our incoming Kindergartens and returning busy bees! We are so excited to have our students return to Winslow. Grades 1-5 we will see you on August 29th whereas for our kindergarten class we shall see you on September 3rd! Please check out our electronic calendar whenever you can as it contains all school closure days, school vacations and 1/2 day releases. 

A little history on our school: What makes it special?
Betsey B Winslow is named after a New Bedford educator, Betsy Baldwin Winslow. Miss Winslow was an educator for over 20 years and beloved by her community. She was also an active member on the New Bedford School Committee. In total, Winslow served 39 years in education (the longest serving term until 2015). When Miss Winslow finally retired in 2015, her dedication, inspiration and diligence to women and students throughout this community were recognized. Betsey was the first living person to have a school named after her!

 Parent Office Reminders/Update: 

Drop off starts at 8:00 am on the backside of the school (Bedford St) Staff will be out there to monitor. The bell rings at 8:15. Please have your child line blacktop room number line. Please do not use the front doors unless it is after 8:25 am. (Tardy)    

Dismissal time:

Grades K/1 2:20 pm

Grades 2-5 2:25 pm

If you have more than one student, they will be dismissed with youngest sibling’s class. Please be on the line waiting for dismissal. Always have an ID.
